"I am 100% happy with this ice machine. It does crank out the ice. I made 80 lbs of ice in a 1 1/2 days. Besides the ice machine, I am extremely impressed with Hothope's customer service. I had an issue where the door for the ice storage bin wasn't installed when I received the ice maker. Not sure how that happened. I contacted Hothope and they responded immediately. They were very apologetic about the door not being installed and they made a personal how-to video for me. It worked out perfect and I installed the door quickly!! No matter what you buy on Amazon, sooner or later you will have an issue. Its how the seller responds to that issue. Hothope provides excellent customer service along with a great product!!! I highly recommend it"

"I put this in my garage since I didn't have a good location with a drain. I just placed it up a little on a platform and put the drain hose in a bucket that I can empty if needed from ice melting. I put this next to my deep freezer so I can just bag ice and throw into my deep freezer for when I need it. It makes ice really quick. I filled 2 bags and then turned it off until I need to make more ice. I used the 5 gallon jug method of water delivery. It also comes with a water line and in line filter if you want it set up that way."

"We bought this ice maker for our business so our field crews can fill up their coolers in the morning. It has a good storage capacity and can provide enough ice for 4-5 coolers depending on how much you fill them. It replenishes the ice pretty quickly so those of us that work in the office can have ice within an hour. I wish I lived closer to my office, because this would be great for weekend party ice needs :)"

"The machine makes ice very efficiently. It is quiet and compact. The one I received has a leak but customer support was timely and very helpful with instructions on troubleshooting and attempting to eliminate the problem. Unfortunately, the leak could not be resolved and they are replacing the machine."

"My wife and I use a ton of ice. We drink ice water from the time we get up until we switch to cocktails in the evening. The icemaker in our refrigerator (Samsung) has never worked properly so we resorted to old fashioned ice trays. They were a pain the behind, so I purchased this ice maker. We both really like it, however, my wife says she will never be without it again. She absolutely loves it. It makes ice quickly, I have mine set on 8 minutes. Any longer and the ice kicks out too thick to break up easily. We start the machine in the evening and it makes enough ice to last until the next evening, so we always have plenty of ice. If we want to fill a cooler, we start it up and within an hour we have more than enough to fill a small cooler. I am very happy with this machine."

"We have been using the ice maker machine for a few days now and so far it has been a great product. We are using the bottle fed feature which made it simple to setup as there is no need to do any hook-up to a water source. We would recommend using a smaller 3 gallon bottle as it's a little easier to manage although I believe a 5 gallon bottle would still work. The only setup needed is to add the drain pipe and make sure the machine is close enough to a drain so the unused/melted water can drain out as needed. We put the ice into ice bags and move it to the freezer right away so we have not had to deal with much melted ice. The machine is a little low to the ground so we used the packaging as a little platform temporarily while we find something more permanent."

Frequently Asked Questions

It comes down to how much ice you go through in a day. A small cafe or home bar typically does fine with the 100 Lbs model. Mid-size restaurants and catering operations usually need the 120–250 Lbs range. If you run a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or event venue, the 450 or 500 Lbs models will keep up with demand without falling behind during peak hours.

Yes — the 100, 120, 250, and 450 Lbs models are all designed to fit under standard counters. Just make sure you have a nearby water connection and drain. The 500 Lbs model is a freestanding split-body unit and needs its own floor space.

The 100 and 120 Lbs models support two water inlet modes: a direct water line or a gallon bottle (3 or 5 gallon). This makes them easy to set up in spaces without plumbing, like garages, food trucks, or outdoor setups. The larger models require a standard water line connection.

Each cycle takes roughly 8–20 minutes depending on the model and your ice thickness setting. The 500 Lbs model, for example, fills a 12x13 ice tray in about 8–15 minutes. Smaller models like the 100 Lbs produce 36 cubes per cycle in 11–20 minutes.

All Hothope models produce clear, hard ice cubes — the kind you'd expect at a restaurant or cocktail bar. They melt slowly, look clean, and work well for drinks, food displays, and coolers. The included water filter helps ensure the cubes come out crystal clear.

The insulated bins use a thickened foam layer and food-grade PP liner to keep ice solid. Depending on the model and ambient temperature, ice stays frozen for roughly 7–24 hours without power. The larger bins with cyclopentane foam insulation hold ice the longest.

They're about as loud as a standard commercial refrigerator. The CFC-free compressors with R290 refrigerant run quieter than older-style units. Multiple customers have noted that the machines are quiet enough to run in a bar or office without being disruptive.

The models range from 350W to 750W. The compact 100 Lbs unit costs roughly the same to run as a desktop computer. All models use R290 refrigerant and air-cooled cooling, which is more energy-efficient than water-cooled alternatives. The savings add up, especially for 24/7 commercial use.

Every model has a built-in self-cleaning function accessible through the LCD control panel. Run the auto-clean cycle regularly to flush the water lines and ice trays. The panel also has defrost mode and maintenance reminders so you don't have to guess when it's time.

All models come with a water filter, drainage pipe, and ice scoop. The models with two water inlet modes also include a water supply hose. The 500 Lbs model includes additional installation hardware for its split-body design.

Hothope has a responsive support team available through Amazon. Multiple customers have reported fast response times — including personalized video instructions for installation issues and replacement units when needed. All warranty and returns are handled through Amazon.

Absolutely. The 100 and 120 Lbs models are popular with homeowners who want more ice than a fridge can provide — for daily use, entertaining, cold plunge setups, or just keeping a deep freezer stocked with bags of ice. The bottle-fed water option makes home installation simple.
